Breast
A breast ultrasound is typically ordered when a patient has a breast pain, lump, or a solid mass that may indicate the presence of cancer. An ultrasound is also recommended when a density is seen on a mammogram that requires further evaluation. When a mammogram reveals a questionable area in the breast, the ultrasound is used to further evaluate the specific area of interest.

- Breast: You should wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing, though you may be asked to change into a patient gown. You should not apply any lotion or powder to the skin on or around your breasts or wear deodorant. These substances can interfere with getting clear images from the exam.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to avoid any major delays.
You will check in the front desk, fill out questionnaires and consents, and make payments. You will be escorted to a procedure room, where you may be asked to change into a patient gown.
